Jie "Jack" Xhao č nato il 14 giugno del 1969 a Tjianin, ha vissuto per una decina di anni in Europa, principalmente in Olanda, e nel 2001 č tornato a vivere nella sua cittā natale in Cina.
Jie che parla correntemente l'inglese ed č universalmente conosciuto nel mondo del bridge come "Jack", ha imparato il gioco durante gli anni dell'Universitā ma č passato al bridge professionale solo dopo esser sbarcato in Olanda ed essere stato alla scuola di Berry Westra.
Giocatore di livello assoluto, č un World Grand Master che nel 2006 ha conquistato a Verona la corona mondiale del campionato a Coppie Open. In precedenza era arrivato secondo al Transnational del 2003 a Montecarlo.
Vero globetrotter del bridge, oltre a molti titoli nazionali ed a un titolo olandese ha anche vinto nel 2006 la Vanderbilt americana e nel 2014 i World Transnational Mixed Pairs.

Jack won the World Open Pairs Championship in Verona, Italy in 2006 and the Vanderbilt Trophy in 2006.
Jack has more than 10 Chinese National Championships, and has represented China from 2003 to 2009 in various World Championship events including quarterfinal or better finishes in the Bermuda Bowl, the Mind Sport Olympics, the transnational teams, and the Rosenblum.
In 2014 he won the Transnational Mixed Pairs.
