Judy  TUCKER

 

Judy Tucker, che nacque l'8 novembre del 1946 a Lauderhill ed era la figlia del noto giocatore americano Morrie Elis che, oltre ad essere stata una valente giocatrice, fu agente di viaggio e direttrice del famoso Honors Club di New York.

 Sposata con il noto bridgista Alan Tucker, ricoprì diversi ruolo in seno alla ACBL: Membro del NABC Appeals Committee, membro del Consiglio di Nassau/Suffolk, membro iperattivo del Goodwill Committee.

 Come giocatrice vinse molti campionati regionali e 3 NABC tra i quali ricordiamo il Whitehead del 1984.

Judy, che dedicò la sua vita al padre, scomparve a causa di un infarto notturno durante lo svolgimento degli Spring National Championships di Reno il 21 marzo del 1998, quando aveva solo 51 anni.

  Judy Tucker of New York City, one of the strongest woman players in North America, died in her room at the Reno Hilton early yesterday morning, the result of a massive coronary. 

 Judy was active in many phases of bridge. In addition to being a champion player, she was a successful club manager for the Honors Club in New York, a District 24 official, a member of the NABC Appeals Committee, a member of the Nassau/Suffolk board, an active member of the Goodwill Committee and a travel agent. 

 At the bridge table, she was a World Bridge Master, with a victory in the Pan Am Women’s Teams in 1992 and several high-ranking finishes in world events. 

At the ACBL level, she was a Diamond Life Master with several NABC victories and innumerable regional triumphs. Judy always was dedicated to her father, former bridge great Morrie Elis.
