Erlend Skjetner č nato il 29 ottobre del 1988 a Melhus una cittā norvegese circa 20 km. a sud di Trondheim dove oggi vive.
Si č messo in luce agli inizi della carriera bridgistica quando ha vinto una serie di medaglie di bronzo ai Campionati Europei Giovanili a Squadre del 2005, ai Campionati Mondiali Universitari a Squadre del 2008 e a quelli Universitari Europei a Squadre dell'anno successivo.

Skjetner was born on October 29, 1988 in Melhus, a
Norwegian city about 20 km. to the south of
Trondheim where he lives today.
He was highlighted at the beginning of the bridge career when he won a series of bronze medals at the 2005 European Youth Championships, the 2008 World Universities Teams Championships, and the European Teams Universities of the following year.
