Radu Nistor è nato il 29 novembre 1988 a Ploiesti in Romania dove ha studiato presso il locale liceo Nichita Stanescu prima di frequentare l'Università di Bucarest.

Attualmente vive a Miami Beach con la moglie Raluca Dobrescu, anche lei romena ed anche lei bridgista e spesso sua partner.
World Master, Radu ha fatto presenza fissa nelle nazionali giovanili Romene riuscendo a cogliere nel 2011 il bronzo nei Campionati Mondiali Transnazionali per Squadre Juniores e in quelli a Coppie Juniores.
Nel circuito americano ha già vinto 4 NABC's.

World Master, Radu has made a permanent presence in the Romanian youth national teams managing to seize the bronze in 2011 in the Transnational World Championships for Junior Teams and in those in Junior Pairs.
On the American circuit he has already won 4 NABC's.
