Nicolas Nikitine è nato il 25 febbraio del 1946 a Strasburgo dove ha completato i suoi studi laureandosi in economia ed in lingua inglese.
Dopo aver trascorso un anno come addetto culturale in Giamaica si è trasferito in Svizzera, prima a Basilea dove ha lavorato in campo pubblicitario, e poi a Zurigo dove è entrato nella Readers Digest dove è rimasto per quindici anni.
In seguito, per oltre 10 anni è stato un giornalista indipendente del Tages-Anzeiger di Zurigo, prima di dedicarsi professionalmente alle traduzioni e al bridge.
Sposato e divorziato dalla bridgista Ruth Nikitine (anche lei nazionale svizzera), oggi vive a Rüti con la seconda moglie Sandra Wirth.
Nicolas ha fatto parte della nazionale svizzera e ha riportato lusinghieri piazzamenti in molti dei più importanti tornei europei e nel 2004 è stato anche capitano della squadra femminile tedesca.

After spending a year as a cultural attaché in Jamaica he moved to Switzerland, first to Basel where he worked in advertising, and then to Zurich, where he joined the Readers Digest where he remained for fifteen years.
Later, for over 10 years he was an independent journalist of the Tages-Anzeiger in Zurich before dedicating himself professionally to translations and bridge.
Married and divorced by the bridge player Ruth Nikitine (also Swiss national), today he lives in Rüti with the second wife Sandra Wirth.
Nicolas has been part of the Swiss national team and has reported flattering placements in many of the most important European tournaments and in 2004 he was also captain of the German women's team.
