Hans MELCHERS

 Hans Daniel Melchers è nato il 18 maggio del 1938 ad Apeldoorn una città circa 100 Km ad est della capitale ed è un ricco uomo d'affari olandese.

 Melchers è il fondatore della Melchemie Holland BV ed il maggior azionista (con il 15%) della HAL Investments BV.

 Sua figlia Claudia è stata al centro della cronaca nel 2005 per essere stata vittima di un rapimento fortunatamente durato solo due giorni.

 Melchers ha conosciuto il Bridge in età avanzata (aveva già 50 anni) ma se ne è prontamente innamorato e dal 1990 è divenuto il maggior sponsor olandese del gioco.

 Non a casa, tre anni dopo la nazionale dei tulipani conquistava per la prima e l'unica volta nella sua storia la Bermuda Bowl.

 Nel 2008 Melchers ha scritturato una propria Squadra con la quale si diverte a partecipare a molte delle più importanti manifestazioni bridgistiche.

Melchers founded Melchemie Holland BV, and is major (15%) shareholder in HAL Investments BV. With a total capital of Euro 460 million, Melchers reached a 36th spot in the 2005 edition of the Quote 500-list of the most wealthy Dutch.

His daughter, Claudia, was the victim of a kidnapping in September 2005. She was released after two days of confinement.

Since the early 1990s until 2007, Melchers was a major sponsor of the Dutch Bridge Federation (NBB).

In 2008 Melchers started his own professional bridge team.
