Carl  HUDECEK

Carl Hudecek è nato il 3 dicembre del 1934 a Toledo nell'Ohio ed è stato un esperto a livello internazionale di sigillatura del vetro e di struttura dei metalli.

 Dopo aver studiato alla Oregon Clay High School e laureato all' Università di Toledo, ha lavorato molti anni alle industrie Owens-Illinois di Toledo dove era capo della fisica  e manager dei laboratori.

 È stato un pioniere della sua specializzazione in Russia e in Germania e ha tenuto dei corsi all'Università di Rutgers e alla Scuola Mineraria del Missouri.

 Esperto giocatore di bridge ha vinto un Campionato Nazionale a Coppie nel 1966 ed ha proposto una interessante convenzione che porta il suo nome.

 Ha collaborato per diversi decenni con The Bridge World partecipando ai panel degli esperti e scrivendo articoli e commenti.

Carl J. Hudecek (born December 3, 1934 in Toledo, Ohio) is an internationally known expert on sealing glasses, metal expansion and contraction, and metal oxidation processes for glass sealing.

He spent most of his working career at Owens-Illinois Glass Company in Toledo, Ohio, where he was chief physicist and laboratory manager.

He is holder or co-holder of many USA and foreign patents in sealing glasses, television picture tube materials and processing, and sealing alloys.

He was one of the USA pioneers in designing and installing turnkey manufacturing operations for sealing glasses in Russia and Germany.

He has taught courses on sealing and joining at Rutgers University and Missouri School of Mines.

He consults in the area of sealing glasses through his consulting company, Bridgecon Services in Perrysburg, Ohio.

He is also an expert at the game of contract bridge.

He won the National ACBL Life Master Open Pairs bridge championship in 1966, partnered by Ray Zoller.

He has been a member of the panel of experts for The Bridge World Magazine for over 45 years and has written many bridge articles and commentaries.
