Lidia SONAND KILVINGTON BEECH

 Lidia Sonand nacque in Polonia il 4 maggio del 1950 e la sua famiglia emigrò in Australia nel 1958.

 Lidia studiò medicina e si sposò una prima volta nel 1972 con Grant Kilvington al quale diede tre figli prima che il suo matrimonio finisse dopo 16 anni.

 Nel 1989 sposò in seconde nozze David Beech che aveva 4 figli formando un'unica grande famiglia.

 Vincitrice di oltre trenta titoli nazionali fu bloccata nel 1997 quando si stava affacciando sulla scena internazionale da due tragedie, il cancro al seno che le fu diagnosticato e l'infarto di David che lo portò via nel gennaio dell'anno successivo.

 Purtroppo la recrudescenza del male che l'aveva colpita le impedì l'ascesa internazionale e la costrinse ad interrompere drammaticamente a causa di un collasso la sua partecipazione alle Olimpiadi del 2000.

 Gli ultimi incontri nazionali li ha disputati su una sedia a rotelle e con la bombola dell'ossigeno al seguito.

 Morì il 12 settembre del 2001.

  Lidia Sonand was born in Poland in 1950 and her family emigrated to Australia in 1958.

 Lydia studied medicine and was married first in 1972 with Grant Kilvington and gave him three children before her marriage ended after 16 years.

 In 1989, then married David Beech who had 4 children and they will form one big family.

 Winner of over thirty national titles was halted in 1997 when she was ushering in the international arena by two tragedies, the breast cancer that was diagnosed and heart failure of David, who took him in January next year.

 Unfortunately the outbreak of an illness that had prevented the rise of the international hit and forced her to stop because of a dramatic collapse of her participation in the 2000 Olympics.

 In the last national meeting, she played on a wheelchair with the oxygen tank in tow.

She died in September of 2001.
