Giovanni Albamonte era nato a Palermo nel 1972 ma si era trasferito a Milano per lavorare nel campo dell'informatica.
Figlio di Donio un noto bridgista, era un ottimo giocatore ed uno juniores di grande prospettive che stava cercando di conciliare il lavoro ed il gioco, cosa che riesce davvero a pochi con successo.
Nel suo palmares internazionale figurano un Campionato Europeo Juniores a Squadre Nazionali nel 1992 e due argenti nel MEC Juniores a Squadre del 1993 e nel 1996.
Sul piano nazionale aveva vinto gli Juniores a Squadre nel 1996 e il Campionato a Coppie Libere del 2006.
All'inizio del 2011 un male terribile ci ha privato prematuramente del suo sorriso che rifletteva il suo carattere e che lo ha fatto amare da chiunque lo abbia conosciuto.

Son of Donio a good bridge player, he was an excellent bridge player and a great junior prospects who was trying to balance work and play, something that can really only a few successfully.
In his international honors include a National Team Juniors European Championship in 1992 and two silvers in the EC Junior Team in 1993 and 1996.
At the national level he won the Junior Team (1996) and the Pairs Championships (2006).
At the beginning of 2011 a terrible illness has deprived us of his prematurely smile that reflected his character and that made him loved by everyone who knew him.
