Thomas  WEIK

 

 Thomas W. Weik è nato nel 1942 e si è diplomato al Lebanon Valley College di Annville una cittadina ad est di Harrisburg in Pennsylvania ed oggi vive nello stesso stato a Wyomissing nell'hinterland di Reading.

 Si è laureato poi alla Roosevelt University di Chicago ed ha preso il dottorato presso l'Istituto di Tecnologia dell'Illinois dopo aver servito nella guerra del Vietnam per 4 anni come ufficiale di staff del Comando Tattico delle Forze Aeree.

 Dopo aver lavorato prima alla Butcher & Singer divenne Vice Presidente della Shearson Lehman Brothers fin quando nel 1987 non fondò la Weik Investment che ha guidato per oltre trent'anni.

 Esperto finanziario, ha gestito le colonne finanziarie di vari giornali, ha fatto parte del CdA della Fondazione per Il Reading Public Museum ed è Presidente del Comitato di Investimenti dell' Albright College.  

 Thomas è un Senior Master che è riuscito a vincere un NABC e che ha colto il suo miglior risultato con il 4º posto nella Rand Cup del 2010 ed è stato Presidente del IV Distretto dell'ACBL.

  Tom founded Weik Investment in 1987 and has supervised the firm's investment work since that time. His responsibilities include equity analysis and portfolio management. Tom has served investors for more than 30 years.

Born in 1942, after he graduated from Lebanon Valley College in 1964, Tom engaged in graduate work at Roosevelt University and a doctoral program at the Illinois Institute of Technology.

His education was interrupted by the Vietnam War when he was called to duty and served for four years as a staff officer at Headquarters Tactical Air Command, United States Air Force.

Prior to founding Weik Investment, Tom provided investment advice and related brokerage services for 13 years as a Vice President and registered representative with Butcher & Singer, Inc., and then as Vice President and financial consultant with Shearson Lehman Brothers. In 1985, he joined Connors Investor Services, Inc., serving as Vice President with overall supervisory responsibility for client portfolios and playing a major role in the firm's equity research and portfolio management.

Tom is a member of the CFA Society of Philadelphia and the Berks County Estate Planning Council. He has written investment columns for two Pennsylvania newspapers.

Tom serves on the board of the Foundation for the Reading Public Museum and chaired the Joint Trust Fund Committee for ten years.

Tom is a trustee emeritus of Albright College having served the college as a trustee from 1994 through 2007 and as the Chairman of the Investment Committee for more than ten years.

He also serves on the board of directors for the World Affairs Council of Greater Reading.

He is a nationally prominent tournament bridge player, having won a national championship and more than 10,000 master points. He is the President of District 4, a six-state subdivision of the American Contract Bridge League.
