Nativa della Thailandia è cresciuta a Sydney dove ha frequentato prima la Ravenswood School e poi The University of Sydney dove si è laureata in economia.
Tornata a Bangkok verso la fine degli anni '60, è stata la responsabile dell'introduzione della Diner's Club in Thailandia.
Sposata con 4 figli, ha preso interesse al Bridge quando rimase in cinta del primo figlio e a quel tempo era solita giocare tutte le sere con il suo ex marito.
Mostrò subito una forte predisposizione per il gioco tanto da finire ben presto nella nazionale femminile.
Nel 1990 abbandonò il Bridge per dedicarsi alla carriera politica che è stata coronata dalla elezione a senatrice nel 2000.
Quando nel 2006 si è pensionata, ha ripreso a giocare ed è divenuta Presidente della Pacific Asia Bridge Federation.
