Victor Silverstone è nato a Glasgow nel 1941, dove ha compiuto gli studi di ragioneria e dove ha vissuto fin quando nel 1975 si è trasferito

con la famigli in una piccola frazione londinese.
Figlio di un noto bridgista e fratello di Jack Silverstone (1956 - 2004) un altro campione inglese precocemente scomparso, è stato sposato per 56 anni con Linda Silverstone, con cui faceva coppia anche al tavolo verde ed hanno avuto 4 figli.
A livello internazionale ha fatto più volte parte della compagine britannica ed ha vinto un argento per la nazionale scozzese agli Europei Senior del 2012 e un oro ed un bronzo ai Campionati MEC a squadre open nel 1981 e nel 1973 per la nazionale britannica.
A livello britannico ha vinto la Gold Cup nel 1969, 1973 e 1985, l'Hubert Phillips Bowl nel 1989 e la Coppa Tollemache nel 1978, 1994, 2000, 2010 e 2015.
Senior Master, ci ha lasciato improvvisamente il 10 novembre del 2021.

Silverstone was born in Glasgow in 1941, where he completed his
accounting studies and where he lived until in 1975 he moved with his family to
a small London hamlet.
Son of a well-known bridge player and brother of Jack Silverstone (1956 - 2004), another champion who died prematurely, he married for 56 years with Linda Silverstone, with whom he was also a couple at the green table, they had 4 children.
At the international level he has been part of the British team several times and won a silver for the Scottish national team at the Senior European Championships in 2012 and a gold and a bronze at the MEC Open Team Championships in 1981 and 1973 for the British national team.
On a British level he won the Gold Cup in 1969, 1973 and 1985, the Hubert Phillips Bowl in 1989 and the Tollemache Cup in 1978, 1994, 2000, 2010 and 2015.
Senior Master, he suddenly left us on November 10, 2021.
