Guy  RAMSEY

Guy Haylett Walker Ramsey nacque il 12 gennaio del 1900 da un attore e da una novellista coś che la vena artistica era impressa nel suo DNA.

 Fu educato In Gran Bretagna a Harrow e a Lawrenceville e negli Stati Uniti a Oxford e a Harvard.

 Sposato due volte, prima con Cicely Sylvia Molesworth e poi con Celia Marjorie Dale, sorella del noto attore, ebbe due figli ed amava dire di se stesso che era un doppio artigiano, sia delle lettere che del bridge.

 Fu un membro sussidiario del famoso Buller Team ed uno dei primi a sperimentare l'allora innovativo "Vienna System".

 Critico d'arte e penna specializzata nel bridge, scrisse per i migliori quotidiani e riviste del suo tempo, tra i quali il "Daily Telegraph" ed il "Daily Mail".

Corrispondente di guerra, al suo ritorno dall'Algeria divenne editor dell' EBU's Contract Bridge Journal,  fece parte del Consiglio Direttivo della Tournament Bridge Association e fu Presidente della IBPA.

  Guy Haylett Walker Ramsey was born on 12th January 1900 by an actor and a novelist so that the artistic vein was imprinted in his DNA.

He was educated at Harrow and  at Lawrenceville in Britain and at Oxford and Harvard in the United States.

Married twice, first with Cicely Sylvia Molesworth and then with Celia Marjorie Dale, sister of the well-known actor, had two children and modestly he liked to say of himself that he was a double craftsman, both of the letters of the bridge.

He was a member of the famous subsidiary Buller Team and one of the first bridge player to experiment with the innovative "Vienna System".

Art critic and pen specializing in bridge, wrote for several best newspapers and magazines of his time, including the "Daily Telegraph" and the "Daily Mail".

War correspondent, on his return from Algeria became editor of the "EBU's Contract Bridge Journal", was part of the Executive Council of Tournament Bridge Association and was President of IBPA.

He died in October 1959.
