Samantha Punch è nata nel 1970 a Tonbridge non lontano da Londra ed oggi vive a Stirling in Scozia con il suo compagno di bridge e di vita Stephen Peterkin.
Ha studiato presso la Grammar School femminile Weald of Kent, si è laureata presso l'Università di Leeds dove ha anche preso il dottorato e da oltre 20 anni insegna sociologia presso l'Università di Stirling. Durante gli studi per il dottorato di ricerca che riguardava le condizioni dell'infanzia in Sud America, ha vissuto per lunghi periodi in Bolivia.
E' la promotrice del BAMSA (Bridge: a Mind Sport for All) una ricerca che coinvolge diverse organizzazioni bridgistiche e che si pone l'obiettivo primario di propagandare il gioco per quel meraviglioso sport della mente che in effetti è.
Sam, che è una World Women International Master, fa parte della nazionale scozzese ed è all'inseguimento della sua prima medaglia internazionale.
Samantha Punch was born in 1970 in Tonbridge not far from
London and today lives in Stirling in Scotland with her bridge and life partner
Stephen Peterkin.
She studied at the Weald of Kent Grammar School for Girls, she graduated from the University of Leeds where she also received her PhD and for over 20 years she has been teaching sociology at the University of Stirling. While studying for her Ph.D. on childhood conditions in South America, she lived for long periods in Bolivia.
She is the promoter of BAMSA (Bridge: a Mind Sport for All), a research that involves various bridge organizations and which has the primary objective of promoting the game for that wonderful sport of the mind that it really is.
Sam, who is a World Women International Master, is part of the Scottish national team and is in pursuit of her first international medal.
