Alain Kaplan Lewin was born in Sao Paulo, Brazil March 22, 1940 but has lived for many years in Brussels where he grew up as one of the best Belgian players.

 He graduated in psychology at the Lutheran University of Brazil and then he moved to Europe.

 In addition to winning several national titles, at international level he won the bronze medal at the EEC Teams Open Championships  in 1981 and those Seniors Team of 1996.

 His best results have won two bronze medals at the European Seniors Teams Championships in 1999 and 2008.
