Georges Iontzeff discende da una famiglia russa emigrata in Francia alla caduta dello zar ed è nato il 26 febbraio del 1952 a Boulogne sur Seine.
I suoi parenti erano tutti appassionati giocatori di carte così che Georges a 10 anni già conosceva le regole di tutti i principali giochi, che aveva imparato assistendo alle partite casalinghe.
Sbrigato il servizio militare in marina, Georges ha diretto la IVC un'agenzia di viaggio da lui fondata nel 1970 a Garches. Sposato ha avuto quattro figli di cui una, Véronique anche lei bridgista.
Attore dilettante e buon giocatore di poker e di bridge, oggi dirige ed insegna appassionatamente presso il suo circolo di Hameau ad Auteuil, non lontano dalla capitale.
Pluricampione nazionale Iontzeff ha partecipato alle Olimpiadi del 2016 nella categoria senior vincendo la medaglia d'argento
Georges Iontzeff descends from a Russian family who
emigrated to France at the fall of the tsar and was born on 26 February 1952 in
Boulogne sur Seine.
His relatives were all passionate card players so that Georges at 10 already knew the rules of all the major games, which he had learned by attending home games.
After his military service in the navy, Georges directed the IVC, a travel agency he founded in 1970 in Garches.
Married had four children, one of whom, Véronique also a bridge player.
An amateur actor and a good poker and bridge player, today he passionately directs and teaches at his Hameau club in Auteuil, not far from the capital.
Plus time national champion Iontzeff participated in the 2016 Olympics in the senior category by winning the silver medal.
