Monty  HALL

 

 Maurice Halprin, alias Monty Hall, è nato il 25 agosto del 1921 a Winnipeg ed è stato un noto presentatore ed un produttore televisivo.

 Ha frequentato la Lord Selkirk School di Elmwood e la St. John High School, laureandosi poi all'Università del Manitoba in chimica e zoologia.

 Nel 1946 si teasferì a Toronto per lavorare presso la radio Chum che gli diede il nomignolo con cui diventò famoso.

 Nel 1955 si trasferì a New York ed esplose ne trasmissione televisive a quiz rendendosi particolarmente famoso per il gioco a premi delle tre porte dando vita a quello che prese il nome di "Paradosso di Monty Hall" che si può risolvere grazie alla nostra ben nota "Regola della scelta ristretta".

 Sposato con Marilyn hanno avuto tre figli: Joanna, Sharon e Richard.

 Monty, che è stato un giocatore amatoriale di bridge, si è spento il 30 settembre del 2017 a Beverly Hills in California.

  Maurice Halprin, aka Monty Hall, was born on 25 August 1921 in Winnipeg and was a well-known presenter and television producer.

He attended Elmwood's Lord Selkirk School and St. John High School, then graduating from the University of Manitoba in chemistry and zoology.

In 1946 he moved to Toronto to work at the radio Chum which gave him the nickname with which he became famous.

In 1955 he moved to New York and exploded in television broadcasts with quizzes making himself particularly famous for the three-door prize-giving game, giving life to what he called the "Monty Hall Paradox" which can be solved thanks to our well-known " Rule of the restricted choice ".

Married with Marilyn they had three children: Joanna, Sharon and Richard.

Monty, who was an amateur bridge player, died on September 30, 2017 in Beverly Hills, California.
