Edouard  FRISCHAUER

 

 Edouard Max Frischauer nato l'11 giugno del 1894 a Vienna e fu uno dei massimi interpreti del bridge austriaco ed europeo nella prima metà dello scorso secolo.

 Edouard, che aveva 4 fratelli maschi, Leo,  Paul Max, Willy e Fritz, si sposò tre volte, le prime due con Ella Slonitz e Regina Kranz Kaus, finirono in divorzio, la terza con Greta Lustig che gli sopravvisse.

 Servì nell'esercito austro-ungarico durante la prima guerra mondiale e si laureò in legge presso l'Università di Vienna nel 1938.

 Quando la Germania nazista annesse l'Austria, Edward, che era ebreo, fuggì prima a Parigi e poi negli Stati Uniti, dove vinse diversi tornei a livello nazionale.

 Avvocato e broker edilizio, vinse nel 1937 sia il Campionato Europeo  Squadre che ebbe valore anche come Campionato Mondiale.

 Morì a Los Angeles il 15 gennaio del 1964.

   Edi Max Frischauer born 11 June 1894 in Vienna and was one of the foremost artists of the  Austrian and European bridge in the first half of last century.

 Edward, who had four male siblings, Leo, Max Paul, Willy and Fritz, was married three times, the first two with Ella Slonitz and Queen Kaus, ended in divorce, the third with Greta Lustig who survived him.

He served in the army of Austro-Hungarian Empire during the First World War and graduated from the Law at the University of Vienna in 1938.

When Nazi Germany annexed Austria, Edward, who was Jew, fled first to Paris and then in the United States, where he won several tournaments at the national level.

Lawyer and broker building, in 1937 he won both the European Championship Teams that what the World.

He died in Los Angeles on January 15, 1964.
