Jean-Pierre Carcy è nato il 7 ottobre del 1935 a Issoudun un piccolo comune situato al centro della Francia nel Dipartimento di Indre.

Si è diplomato al Collegio Honoré de Balzac di Issoudun e si è laureato all'Università di Poitiers.

Pensionato, vive da decenni a Nantes e divide il suo tempo tra il bridge, il golf e la pesca.

Bridgista di rinomanza nazionale, ha vinto diversi tornei e campionati francesi e a livello continentale ha colto i suoi migliori vincendo il Campionato a Squadre Open del MEC nel 1971 ed arrivando al 4º posto negli Europei a Squadre Miste del 1992.
