Lavrentij BERIJA

 

 Lavrentij Pavlovič Berija è nato da una famiglia contadina a Merkheuli presso Sukhumi in Abcasia il 29 marzo del 1899 ed è stato un potente uomo politico russo che fu a capo della polizia segreta dell'Unione Sovietica sotto Stalin e, per un breve periodo, anche Vice Presidente del Consiglio dei Ministri nel  1953.

 Fu l'anima nera di Stalin, cinico e crudele esecutore o suggeritore di molte persecuzioni e delitti ma ebbe il merito di ordinare il dislocamento dell'industria bellica sovietica in Siberia, una mossa che fu determinante per la vittoria sui tedeschi.

 Sposò nel 1922 Nina Tejmurazovna Gegeckori, una donna bellissima a cui visse a fianco per pochissimo tempo e che gli diede il figlio Sergio.

  Berija era un buon giocatore ed era solito a bridge con Molotov e con Vorošilov.

 Accusato di ogni possibile nefandezza, morì il 23 dicembre del 1953 a Mosca, probabilmente ucciso durante una riunione del Comitato Centrale del PCUS.

   Lavrentiy Beria was born to a peasant family in Merkuli at Sukhumi in Abkhazia on March 29, 1899 and has been a powerful Russian politician who was head of the secret police of the Soviet Union under Stalin and, for a short time, was Vice President the Council of Ministers in 1953.

He was the black soul of Stalin, cynical and cruel executor or prompter of many persecutions and crimes but had the merit to order the Soviet war industry displacement in Siberia, a move that was decisive for the victory on the Germans.

In 1922 he married Nina Tejmurazovna Gegeckori, a beautiful woman who lived next to no time, and that gave him his son Sergio.

Beria was a good player and he used to bridge with Molotov and Voroshilov.

Accused of every possible wickedness, he died December 23, 1953 in Moscow, probably killed during a meeting of the Central Committee of the CPSU.
