Francesco Alocchi, per tutti semplicemente Diego, è nato il 13 agosto del 1955 a Forlì ma viveva a Rimini e per molti anni è stato una delle figure di riferimento del bridge di quel pezzo di riviera adriatica che molti ricordano con malcelata nostalgia per le spensierate vacanze estive.
Profondo conoscitore del gioco e buon giocatore, ha partecipato più volte ai Campionati Europei e anche ad un paio di edizioni dei Mondiali, difendendo i colori della vicina San Marino.
Ma, soprattutto, Diego è stato un insegnante di rara premura e non vi è bridgista riminese che non abbia beneficiato di un suo paziente e disinteressato consiglio.
Giovanni Donati si è formato alla sua scuola.
La sua opera di teorico può essere ritrovata nel Quadri Rimini, un sistema licitativo di sua ideazione che ha personalmente curato fino all'ultimo.
Quando è prematuramente scomparso la mattina del 23 maggio del 2014, ha lasciato orfano l'intero bridge riminese.
La sua adorata compagna Antonella Francesca Englaro è l'anfitrione del Memorial a Squadre che ogni anno lo ricorda.
Francesco Alocchi, for everyone simply Diego, was born on
1955, August 13 in
Forli but he lived in Rimini and for many years was one of the bridge leading
figures of that piece of the Adriatic coast that many remember with undisguised
longing for carefree holidays summer.
Deep expert of the game and good player, has participated several times at the European Championships and even a couple of editions of the World Championships, defending the colors of the nearby San Marino.
But, above all, Diego was a teacher of rare kindness and there is not Rimini bridge player who has not benefited from his patients and disinterested advices. The emerging young Giovanni Donati was formed at his school.
His theoretical study can be found in the Diamonds Rimini, a bidding system designed by itself who has personally taken care of until the last.
When it prematurely died the morning of May 23, 2014, left an orphan the entire Rimini bridge.
His beloved partner Antonella Francesca Englaro is the Amphitryon of the Memorial that every year remember him at bridge world.
