Compressione Tetra

 Four Color Squeeze

Si tratta di una straordinaria forma di Compressione Mista che è stata scoperta dall'americano Allen Schwenk e che ha la particolarità di agire nel tempo su tutti e 4 i colori.

Lo schema di partenza è il seguente:

Con Sud che ha bisogno di fare tutte e 13 le prese a SA.

Ovest attacca a fiori, ma sarebbe lo stesso con qualsiasi altro attacco.

Sud prende al morto, tira Asso e Dama di cuori e se tutti rispondono reclama le sue 13 prese (4 + 4 + 2 + 3), se, invece, uno dei due avversari non segue, il giocante tira anche un giro di picche e, se entrambi gli avversari rispondono, ancora una volta reclama le sue 13 prese (5 + 3 + 2 + 3).

Se a non rispondere nei due nobili è lo stesso avversario, il giocante prosegue con Asso e Re di quadri e con Asso di fiori:

In questo finale a 6 carte, il giocante tira la Dama di fiori scartando la quadri del morto e l'avversario che ha la retta in entrambi i nobili, dovendo rimanere con 5 sole carte è costretto alla resa (o abbandona la quarta picche, o abbandona la seconda cuori).

In questo caso il giocante si sarebbe reso artefice di una compressione doppia automatica in due colori.

Se le tenute dei nobili risultano, invece, spartite tra Est ed Ovest scatta la compressione tetra:

 Il giocante vince l'attacco a fiori al morto con il Re, tira l'Asso di picche e scopre il vuoto di Est, allora, tira Asso e Dama di cuori e scopre il singolo di Ovest:

Est scarta una quadri sull'Asso di picche e risponde due volte a cuori, Ovest risponde a picche e sulla seconda cuori scarta una quadri demandando la tenuta del colore al suo compagno (ma, sarebbe uguale se scartasse una fiori, perché delegherebbe Est a dover tenere questo colore).

Il primo colore soggetto a squeeze è stato quadri.

Sud gioca allora due giri di quadri e tira pure l'Asso di fiori su cui scarta dal morto una cuori:

Nel finale di partita a sei carte qui sopra, Sud tira due giri di picche su cui Est abbandona una quadri e, sotto la minaccia di quadri della cartina del morto, una fiori trasferendo il controllo di questo colore ad Ovest.

Il secondo colore soggetto a squeeze è stato fiori.

Poi, sulla Dama di picche (terza carta comprimente), gli opponenti devono capitolare, Est abbandona il Fante di fiori che ormai è stato degradato da tenuta a carta neutra, Sud si disfà della cartina di cuori, ma Ovest, rimane senza difesa.

Se scarta la fiori affranca la cartina di Sud e, se scarta la picche, affranca la cartina di Nord.

South cashes the § King, dropping the §3, and the © Ace and © Queen, dropping the ©5 and ©6 to be cute. Had the Hearts split, declarer would be home free. If West were also guarding Hearts, there is a straight-forward Heart-Spade squeeze for the 13th trick.

In this scenario, East is guarding the Hearts. On the © Queen, West is forced to give up his guard in one of the Minors in order to protect Spades. Declarer reenters his hand with the ¨ King and cases the § Ace and the § Queen. Dummy discards the ª3 and the ©3. Next South cashes the ª Jack and plays a Spade to the Queen. When the ª King is led, this is the position:

If East discards a Heart, South will win the last two tricks with the © King and ©2. So East must discard his last Minor card. Declarer parts with his ©2. West plays a Spade.

Earlier, West chose to retain his guard in Clubs or Diamonds, while East has been forced to abandon both Minors. South needs to have watched the discards closely. If all the Diamonds have been played, dummy's ¨2 wins trick 12. If the Clubs have been abandoned, South wins the last trick with the §2.

There you have it. West has been squeezed in Spades and both Minors, and East has been squeezed in Hearts and both Minors. If South wishes, he can arrange for the trick produced by the squeeze to be won by one of the four deuces. The defenders can determine only which deuce.
