Le convenzioni licitative

Questa convenzione è stata introdotta nel bridge agonistico dal giocatore milanese Leo Gazzilli con la finalità di consentire una dichiarazione più agevole con le bicolori nobili/minore dopo apertura in quinta nobile.

La convenzione prevede che l'Apertore di uno in nobile replichi in senso convenzionale con 2♣ per presentare una delle seguenti possibili mani:

· bicolore con 5ª nobile e 4ª di fiori di diritto (fino a circa 16PO);

· unicolore 5.3.3.2 di 15¸20PO;

· bicolore di rever con 5ª nobile.

Le tre modalità nella quale la convenzione Gazzilli si può sviluppare sono:

L'unica differenza sostanziale tra queste tre sequenze è che nella prima, le unicolori di diritto, possono essere replicate dall'apertore con 1SA, mentre nelle altre due, queste mani devono essere replicate nella terza rossa più economica.

La proposizione originale di Leo Gazzilli è andata perduta ma, come tutte le convenzioni di largo successo, essa presenta un numero elevato di varianti anche molto articolate che spesso rappresentano un vero e proprio pezzo di sistema.

La convenzione ha avuto così tanto successo su scala mondiale che ne esiste anche una versione, le cui origini sono ignote, che la estende al trattamento delle aperture in minore (vedi più avanti).

Inoltre, la convenzione deve potersi adattare al meglio al resto del Sistema Licitativo nella quale viene implementata. Ad esempio, i sistemi che racchiudono nell'apertura di 1SA anche le unicolori nobili richiedono delle modifiche, mentre, quelli a base di fiori/quadri forte, normalmente non sono interessati ad implementarla.

Lo schema generalizzato che proponiamo ha la finalità di guidare il giocatore verso l'adattamento più in linea con il suo Sistema.

Il rispondente che deve replicare alla Gazzilli assume questo comportamento:

In tutti i casi nei quali il rispondente è troppo forte per intraprendere una qualsiasi di queste strade, può procedere con il relè convenzionale di 2♦ per i seguenti tre sviluppi licitativi.

Il relè di 2♦ del rispondente, comunque, garantisce almeno 8+PO.

Considerato che le bicolori di rovescio si dichiarano passando per 2, anche i salti a colore possono essere usati per altre finalità, come, ad esempio, mostrare le monocolori e le bicolori 5.5 intermedie:

La Gazzilli può essere usata su apertura in minore e risposta di uno in nobile appoggiandosi sull'altro minore.

Questa estensione della convenzione prevede che l'apertore di uno in minore che replica nell'altro minore, possieda una delle seguenti configurazioni:

· monocolore nel minore di apertura con 17+PO;

· bicolore nel minore di apertura con 17+PO;

· fit quarto al colore nobile di risposta e 17+PO;

Ferme restando le generiche considerazioni fatte per le aperture in nobile, di seguito tracceremo le linee guida per una possibile applicazione della estensione della Gazzilli, senza omettere di stigmatizzare il fatto che essa appare un po' forzata e presenta numerose controindicazioni.

This convention has been introduced by the Milan player Leo Gazzilli to allow for an easier bidding with hands holding major/minor after opening in the 5 major.

This convention provides the Opener in a 5 major conventionally replies with 2♣ to show one of the following hands:

- normal 5 major e 4 minor (16HCP max);

- 5.3.3.2 15-20HCP;

- a reverse hand with 5 major.

Gazzilli can be developed in three only ways:

The only difference between these three is in the first one, single suit normal hands, can be replied by the Opener with 1NT, while, the other two should be replied in the more economic red suit.

The original Gazzilli convention has been lost but, as all good success conventions, many variants exist as well as some versions adapted for minor openings.

It is also to be pointed out, systems that in the 1NT opening include a possible 5 major ask for some modification, while system based on the clubs/diamonds strong openings have no interest to implement in their system.

The general scheme here shown has the aim as of a general guideline for the player.

Since the 2NT Opener's bid is no longer necessary to show strong single suit hand (bidding them through 2♣), this bid can be opened to other use, e.g. to show strong 6.4 (17+HCP):

The Gazzilli can be used on a smaller opening and a response in relying on the less noble.

This extension of the Convention provides that in the opener of a minor child in the replication, has one of the following configurations:

    · Bicolor in the lower opening with 17 + HCP;
    · Fit fourth noble response to color and 17 + HCP.
