Questa convenzione ormai in disuso, ma, molto in voga negli Stati Uniti negli anni passati, è dovuta al giocatore americano Bernard Zeller e fa parte delle molte ideate per poter intervenire proficuamente sull'apertura di 1SA degli avversari.

La convenzione è adottabile sia dal secondo, che dal quarto di mano, dopo il passo del rispondente e, lo schema degli interventi proposti da Zeller, è il seguente:

  This convention now in disuse, but much in vogue in the United States in past years is due to American player Bernard Zeller. It  is one of many designed to be able to intervene successfully on opening 1NT opponents.

The convention is adopted both by the second and fourth hand, after the passage of the respondent and the schema of the interventions proposed by Zeller, is as follows:

 The advance may pass the double if holding sufficient values. The double is converted to a Penalty Double. Otherwise the advancer makes the lowest possible bid

2♠  Shows Spades and a Minor suit
2SA  Shows both Minor suits

The Brozel also provides a scheme for the fourth bridge player after a natural negative response:

  Sur l’ouverture d’1SA, avec 13 points ou plus et une couleur sixième, faire un contre Brozel.

Avec 6 points d’honneurs ou plus, deux couleurs cinquièmes, et plus de 3 levées de jeu (plus de 4 si vulnérable contre non vulnérable), faire le bicolore Brozel: 2♣ avec les Coeurs et les Trèfl es, 2♦ avec les Coeurs et les Carreaux, 2♥ avec les Coeurs et les Piques, 2♠ avec les Piques et une mineure, ou 2SA avec les deux mineures.

Avec 4 cartes ou plus dans trois couleurs et 16 points ou plus au total, faites un saut au niveau de trois dans votre chicane ou singleton.
