Bolton Bridge Club

Bolton Bridge Club was formed in 1946, the first President being Dr R. S. Davidson. It was incorporated as The Bolton Bridge Club Limited in April 1952.

The first Committee of The Bolton Bridge Club Limited comprised Alfred Glaister (President), Thomas Gee (Immediate Past President), Thomas Hope Parker (Hon. Treasurer), John Ormerod (Hon. Secretary), Franklin Farrington (Hon. Tournament Director), Cyril Morris (Hon. Solicitor), Miss Nellie Fletcher, Miss Margaret Glaister, Herbert Grundy, Mrs Grace Harrison, Thomas Mason, Dr Percy Michael Overton, and James Stanley Williamson.

Several of these would later serve terms as President: Cyril Morris (1954-55), Tom Mason (1959-61), Bert Grundy (1964-65) and John Ormerod (1966-67).

Undoubtedly the best known of the members, at least in bridge circles, was Frank Farrington, the Author of Duplicate Bridge Movements.
