Erling & Morten  WAGLE

 

 Morten Wagle (1865 - 1941), architetto, originario di Arendal trascorse ala sua vita ad Oslo dal 1896 dopo essersi laureato ed aver lavorato per qualche tempo in Germania.

 Talentuoso giocatore di bridge, fu uno dei fondatori della Federazione Norvegese nella quale detenne il titolo di Segretario fino alla sua morte.

 Fu anche un insegnante ed un articolista di bridge molto fortunato, un suo libro del 1934 "Bridge oggi", ebbe una tiratura di 10.000 copie, un'enormità per il bridge norvegese di quel tempo.

 La sua fortunata colonna sul "Dagbladet", uno dei più accreditati quotidiani norvegesi, fu rivelata dal nipote Erling.

 Erling Wagle (1899 - 1980), fu un eccellente giocatore che riportò diversi titoli nazionali e che vinse anche una vecchia edizione delle vecchie Olimpiadi che si svolse ad Oslo.

Impiegato in una banca, il meglio di sé lo diede come articolista e scrittore di bridge, forse il più famoso di quegli anni.

 Suo figlio Finn Wagle fu vescovo di Nidaros e fu tanto famoso da unire in matrimonio i reali di Norvegia Harald e Sonja.

 Premiato dalla NBFS nel 1977, quando morì, lasciò la sua monumentale biblioteca di bridge alla sua Federazione.

Morten Wagle (1865 - 1941), architect, originally from Arendal, spent his life in Oslo since 1896 after graduating and working for some time in Germany.

A talented bridge player, he was one of the founders of the Norwegian Federation in which he held the title of Secretary until his death.

He was also a very successful bridge teacher and columnist, his 1934 book "Bridge today", had a circulation of 10,000 copies, an enormity for the Norwegian bridge of that time.

His lucky column on the "Dagbladet", one of the most accredited Norwegian newspapers, was revealed by his nephew Erling.

Erling Wagle (1899 - 1980), was an excellent player who reported several national titles and also won an old edition of the old Olympics that took place in Oslo.

Employed in a bank, the best of himself gave him as a bridge writer, perhaps the most famous of those years.

His son, Finn, was the bishop of Nidaros so famous that he joined the royals of Norway Harald and Sonja in marriage.

Awarded by the NBFS in 1977, when he died, he left his monumental bridge library to his Federation.
