Graham Turner è nato il 5 ottobre del 1947 a Ellesmere Port una città sul delta del Mersey non lontana da Liverpool ed è stato un noto calciatore, allenatore e manager del calcio inglese.

 Difensore centrale delle serie minori, la sua carriera di calciatore si è sviluppata dal 1964 al 1983 e dal 1978 è stato sia calciatore che allenatore del Shrewsbury Town, una carriera che poi ha proseguito in altre squadre fino al ritiro avvenuto nel 2014, dopo aver passato l'ultimo quadriennio proprio alla direzione come comproprietario della squadra che lo aveva lanciato in questa sua seconda vita agonistica.

 Il figlio Mark è anche lui un calciatore professionista.
