 Natasha  REGAN

 

  Natasha Regan è nata il 12 giugno del 1971 a Londra ed è la figlia maggiore di due medici australiani.

  Ha studiato matematica all'università di Cambridge, ha guadagnato il titolo di insegnante di scacchi e ha curato la rivista di scacchi "Dragon".

 Come giocatrice ha debuttato nella squadra delle Olimpiadi di scacchi femminili inglesi a Manila nel 1992.

 Natasha si è diplomata come attuario nel 1998, specializzandosi in modellistica finanziaria nel settore assicurativo.

 Durante questo periodo ha ottenuto il titolo WIM, ha commentato l'incontrato mondiale tra Kasparov-Short e ha scritto due libri di scacchi nella serie Trends.

 Natasha ha imparato il gioco da tavolo orientale Go, e ha rapidamente migliorato per rappresentare l'Inghilterra anche in quel gioco vincendo anche una medaglia a livello europeo.

 Nel 2014 Natasha e il Gran Maestro Matthew Sadler hanno unito le forze per scrivere "Chess for Life".

 Attraverso affascinanti interviste con i migliori giocatori corredate da accurate analisi delle partite, gli autori hanno esplorato come cambiano le abilità scacchistiche man mano che i giocatori invecchiano. Il libro è divertente, ricco di consigli pratici e ha un approccio al problema che potremo definire rivoluzionario.

Natasha, che vive con il suo partner e tre figli e lavora per la RPC Consulting, è anche una giocatrice di bridge a livello amatoriale e suo figlio Oscar è entrato nella nazionale giovanile inglese. 

Natasha Regan was born in 1971 in London, the elder daughter of two Australian doctors. She studied Maths at Cambridge University, earned a half blue for chess, and edited the chess magazine "Dragon".

She debuted in the English Women's chess Olympiad team in Manila, 1992.

Natasha qualified as an actuary in 1998, specializing in financial modeling in insurance. During this time she gained her WIM title, commentated at the Kasparov-Short world championship, and authored two chess books in the Trends series. Natasha learnt the oriental board game Go, and quickly improved to represent England at that game too.

In 2014 Natasha and GM Matthew Sadler joined forces to write "Chess for Life". Through fascinating interviews with top players together with chess and data analysis the authors explored how chess skills change as players grow older. The authors believe the book is entertaining, full of practical tips, and is groundbreaking in an area that is topical for so many players.

Natasha lives with her partner and three children and is working for RPC Consulting.

Natasha, who lives with her partner and three children and works for RPC Consulting, is also an amateur bridge player and her son Oscar has joined the England youth team.
