Rokia è nata ad Orano in Algeria nel 1953 ha studiato matematica ed un insegnante di bridge professionista che vive ed esercita a Montpellier nel circolo BC Comédie.
Sposata con il giocatore Didier Barthés, divorziò per non voler imparare il bridge.
All'età di 23 anni si trasferì in Francia lasciando la sua famiglia in Algeria, ed il bridge si prese la rivincita cominciando ad entrare pian piano nella sua vita, prima per merito della sua amica Marie Roque e, poi del forte giocatore Jean-Claude Ostry che è stato suo mentore e partner per oltre 20 anni.
Risposatasi con un altro noto giocatore francese, Philippe Poizat, oltre al bridge, ama la lettura ed il cinema.
Oggi oltre che un'insegnante rinomata è un eccellente giocatrice che spesso primeggia nei campionati francesi spesso in coppia con il marito.
