Roger  PENNY

 

 Nato nel 1938 ad Adelaide dove si è laureato in lettere, ha esercitato l'insegnamento presso la Scuola Superiore di Mt. Garnier in Darwin.

 Nel 1960 fu cooptato dalla ABC e nel 1965 si trasferì a Perth assieme alla moglie Jenny a seguito di una promozione.

 Autodidatta, iniziò a dirigere i Tornei nel Canning District Bridge Club di Perth acquistò presto competenza e carisma tanto che nel 1979 si trasferì a Hobart come Capo dei Direttori della TBA.

 Entrato a far parte dell'ABF Councilor preparò i manuali su cui si sono formati la gran parte dei Direttori australiani e  fondò la Australian Bridge Directors' Association.

 Roger e Jenny hanno avuto tre figlie e sono stati le colonne portanti del Bridge della Tasmania, lei nell'insegnamento e lui nell'amministrazione e nella Direzione.

Separatosi dalla moglie si risposò con Jane Stapleton che divenne sua partner sia negli affari che nella vita.

Scomparve nel 2006.

Born in 1938 in Adelaide where he majored in literature, has exercised the teaching at the School of Garnier in Mt Darwin.

In 1960 he was co-opted by the ABC and in 1965 moved to Perth with his wife Jenny after a promotion.

Self-taught, began to lead the tournament in Perth's Canning District Bridge Club soon acquired skill and charisma, so much that he moved to Hobart in 1979 as Head of the Directors of TBA.

He joined ABF Councillor prepared manuals on which they formed the majority of Australian directors and founded the Australian Bridge Directors' Association.

Roger and Jenny have had three daughters and have been the cornerstones of the Tasman Bridge, and she teaching him in the administration and management.

Separated from his wife he married Jane Stapleton, who became his partner in business and in life.

He disappeared in 2006.
