Brian Mervin, nato nel 1950 in Sud Africa ed è stato un promettente bridgista che è scomparso ancora giovanissimo stroncato da un infarto  il 29 ottobre del 1984.

 Londinese di adozione, giocatore tanto brillante quanto imprevedibile, aveva fatto parte più volte sia della nazionale inglese che di quella britannica, con la quale aveva anche vinto i Campionati del MEC a Squadre nel 1981 prima di tornare in Sud Africa.

  Brian Mervin, born in 1950 in South Africa and has been a promising bridge player who passed away at a young age afterward a heart attack on October 29, 1984.

 London's adoption, bridge player as brilliant, as unpredictable, he had been part of the England and of the British Nationals, with whom he also won the EC Teams Championships in 1981,  before returning to South Africa.
