Josef Harsany č nato il 23 settembre 1952 a Kaposvar, una cittā del sud dell'Ungheria a nord del confine croato.
Ha studiato al locale ginnasio, si č laureato all'Universitā della Tecnologia e dell'Economia di Budapest prima di trasferirsi a Burghausen e divenire cittadino tedesco nel 1998.
Dopo essere stato membro del CdA della Federazione Tedesca č suo Vice Presidente dal 2008 al 2016, tornato nella cittā natale č ora Presidente del Comitato Disciplinare della Federazione Ungherese.
Oggi ricopre anche alcune cariche sia nella EBL, che nella WBF.
Buon giocatore ha partecipato spesso a campionati e tornei internazionali ed ha guidato da capitano non giocatore alcune nazionali tedesche e magiare.
Josef Harsanyi was born September 23, 1952 in Kaposvar (Hungary) , and became a German citizen in
1998, after transfer in Burghausen.
He studied at Kaspovar Gymnasium and at University of Budapest.
He was elected as a member of the Executive Council in 2014. He has been a member of the Board of the German Bridge Federation (GBF) between 2008 and 2016 as Vice-President, being responsible for the sports and international relations. Starting with 2000 worked in the Disciplinary Committee of GBF.
He is the Chairman of Disciplinary Committee of the Hungarian Bridge Federation.
He was elected as a member of the Executive Committee of the European Bridge League in 2010, and has been EBL Treasurer since 2014.
He is Chairman of the WBF TDs Committee and a member of the Finance Committee.
Good bridge player, he played for German and Magyar teams and he has been npc of several national teams.
