Abraham, che nacque nel 1903, è stato una delle più note personalità del bridge americano di inizio secolo che si è spenta nel 1982 a Flushing, una cittadina poco distante da New York, dove viveva con la moglie Yetta e con i suoi due figli: Howard e Sharon.

Nella sua carriera di giocatore vinse alcuni titoli nazionali tra i quali ricordiamo la Reisinger del 1949.

Dal 1957 iniziò la sua attività di insegnante che gli diede la soddisfazione di poter formare ed avviare al Bridge competitivo il campione Bobby Levin.

Nel 1959 pubblicò "Commonsense Bridge for Intermediate Player" e nel 1960 fu proprietario e gestore del Bayview Club di Manhasset una cittadina affacciata sull'omonima baia circa 30Km. a Est di New York.

Mr. Goldstein won several major events, including the Reisinger Knockout Team Championship in 1949 and the Eastern States Master Pairs in 1943 and 1949.

In 1957 he turned to teaching. Among the thousands he instructed was Bobby Levin, who went on to become a world team champion at Port Chester, N.Y. in 1981.

Mr. Goldstein wrote ''Commonsense Bridge for the Intermediate Player,'' published in 1959. In the 1960's he owned and managed the Bayview Club in Manhasset, L.I.

He died at Deepdale Hospital, Queens, at the age of 79.

He lived in Flushing, Queens.
