 Michael ("Mike") William Gatting nato a Kingsbury il 6 giugno del 1957 ed ่ un commentatore, un allenatore ed un ex campione di cricket che ่ stato per lungo tempo capitano dei Middlesex. 

 Mike ่ stato uno dei migliori giocatori di cricket inglese negli anni che vanno dal 1980 al 1990, ่ stato pi๙ volte capitano della nazionale inglese ed ่ noto per essere rimasto dall'esordio del 1975, fino al ritiro avvenuto nel 1998, sempre con i Middlesex.

 Per i suoi meriti sportivi ่ stato insignito del titolo di Ufficiale dell'Impero Britannico (OBE).

 Egli ha speso molto del suo tempo giocando a Bridge durante le lunghe attese nei padiglioni sportivi anche se non ่ mai diventato un vero e  proprio esperto del gioco.

   Michael ("Mike") William Gatting (born Kingsbury 6 June 1957), OBE, is a former English cricketer who played first-class cricket for Middlesex County Cricket Club (1975–1998; County Captain 1983–1997). 

He also played for the English cricket team from 1977 to 1995, captaining it in 23 Test matches between 1986 and 1988. He is currently the ECB Managing Director of Cricket Partnerships.

He retired from first-class cricket in 1998 and has since worked as a coach and commentator. He was the President of the Lord's Taverners for 2005/2006 and an elected member of the M.C.C. Committee.

Mike Gatting is not the only member of his family to have been a professional sportsman; his brother, Steve Gatting, was a professional footballer for Arsenal and Brighton & Hove Albion. Steve's son, Joe, played for Brighton & Hove Albion, having progressed from their youth scheme, however Joe is now a professional cricket player with Sussex.

He appeared as himself on The Archers on 9 September 2007 at the centre of a misunderstanding between Sid and Jolene Perks during the npower Village Cup Final.

He has spent many years playing Bridge while waiting in various pavilions.
