Francesco  FERRERO

 

 Nato a Torino nel 1909 è stato il decano dei bridgisti romani.

 Affermato allenatore di basket che ha anche guidato la nazionale azzurra, aveva imparato il Bridge durante gli anni di prigionia in India e rimase sempre un entusiasta e buon giocatore.

 Ma il suo merito più grande è quello di aver portato ordine nel gioco in un tempo nel quale regnava il caos, fu uno dei primi Direttori Italiani e senz'altro fu un personaggio mitico tra gli agonisti degli anni '70.

 Scomparve nel 1997.

Born in Turin in 1909 was the dean of the Roman bridge players.

 An accomplished basketball coach who also led the national team, had learned the Bridge during the years of imprisonment in India and was always enthusiastic and a good player.

 But his greatest merit is to have brought order into the game at a time when chaos reigned, was one of the first Italian directors and certainly was a legendary figure among the players of the '70s.

He disappeared in 1997.
