Ken  DRANE

 Ken Drane è nato a Stanford Abbots nell'Essex  il 23 agosto del 1931 ma la sua famiglia si trasferì ben presto a Greenford dove Ken studiò alla Ealing Boys Country Grammar School conseguendo il massimo risultato in latino, francese, spagnolo e italiano.

 Dopo aver svolto i servizio militare nella RAF, Ken entrò nell'aeronautica civile dove operò fino al momento del suo pensionamento.

 Sposato con Jean Cole, hanno avuto tre figli.

 Ken ha amato lo sport ed i giochi. Giocò a cricket per oltre venti anni e quando smise l'attività fisica per altrettanti si occupò della parte amministrativa di una delle due società sportive nella quale aveva militato.

 Fu anche un buon giocatore di hockey.

 Buon scacchista, eccellente solutore di parole crociate, quando conobbe il bridge portò il suo club a vincere le regionali del Middlesex nel 2011/12, inoltre, fu anche Presidente dell'Ealing Bridge Club.

 Nel 2011 restò vedovo e ricevette il premio Dimmie Fleming.

 Scomparve il 25 aprile del 2013.

Ken Drake was born in Stanford Abbots (Essex), on  August 23, 1931, but his family moved to Greenford where Ken was educated at Ealing Boys Country Grammar School  achieving maximum results in Latin, French, Spanish and Italian.

After doing military service in the RAF, Ken entered the civil aviation where he worked until his retirement.

Married to Jean Cole had three children.

Ken loved sports and games. He played cricket for over twenty years and when he stopped exercising for as many took care of the administrative part of one of the two clubs in which he had played. It was also a good hockey player.

Good chess player, excellent crossword solver, when he met the bridge led his club to win the regional Middlesex in 2011/12, in addition, he was also President dell'Ealing Bridge Club.

In 2011 he remained a widower and received the award Dimmie Fleming.

He disappeared on April 25, 2013.
