Luigi Filippo D'AMICO

 Luigi Filippo D'Amico è nato a Roma il 9 ottobre del 1924 e lì si è spento il 28 aprile del 2007 all'età di 83 anni.

 Regista, sceneggiatore e scrittore ha svolto un'intensa attività professionale nel dopoguerra lavorando sia per il cinema che per la televisione.

 A 16 ha iniziato con lo scrivere di cavalli, a 19 è passato al cinema e a 20 era già aiuto di mostri sacri del cinema quali: Luchino Visconti e Mario Soldati.

 Suo è l'indimenticabile episodio di "dentone" con la prodigiosa interpretazione di Alberto Sordi nel divertente film del 1965 "I Complessi" .

 Come scrittore ricordiamo tra le sue opere maggiori "Il cappellino" e "L'Uomo delle contraddizioni" entrambi editi da Sellerio.

 La precoce passione di D'Amico per il bridge fu ostacolata dalle molte altre sua attività, tuttavia egli è riuscito ha trasmettercela nel suo divertente libro "Cento (e più) straordinarie storie di bridge".

A partire dal 1975 nella sua rubrica sul quotidiano romano "Il Messaggero" ha messo a buon frutto la sua straordinaria capacità di raccontare i fatti coinvolgendo e divertendo il lettore con un sottile intreccio di umorismo e di suspense.

Molti di noi, ricorderanno a lungo la sua inconfondibile immagine, assorto al tavolo da bridge con il suo immancabile sigaro in mano.
