Matthew Clegg è nato il 28 ottobre del 1965 a Davis in California ma è cresciuto nel Rhode Island e ad Atene in Georgia.

 Tornato in California, ha studiato presso l'Università di Riverside  prima di prendere un master in matematica all'Università di Berkeley ed una laurea in scienze informatiche presso l'Università di San Diego.

  Sposato con Merja Tuulia, una laureata in genetica di origine finlandese, è stato il fondatore di OK bridge una piattaforma per il gioco on line che si è rapidamente diffusa in tutto il mondo arrivando a servire oltre 100 Paesi.

 Sembra che quando dopo averlo conosciuto in un viaggio di studio negli USA, Merja tornò in Finlandia, Matthew ebbe la motivazione a creare OK bridge per chattare con lei.

 Matthew è stato eletto personalità dell'anno dall'IBPA nel 1987.

Married to Merja Tuulia, a Finnish-born genetics graduate, was the founder of OK Bridge an on-line platform that quickly spread throughout the world and served over 100 countries.

It seems that after having met him on a US study trip, Merja returned to Finland, Matthew had the motive to create OK bridge to chat with her.

Matthew was elected personality of the year by the IBPA in 1987.
