Martin Chaitt è nato nel 1929 a Williamsport nel centro nord dello stato di Philadelphia ed è cresciuto nella non distante Elmira nello stato di New York.
Ha studiato presso l'Università di Syracuse e ha preso il suo master presso la Johns Hopkins University.
Sposato con Said Ellause hanno avuto tre figlie ha iniziato a lavorare part time per l'ACBL negli anni '60 alla scuola di Jerry Machlin che considerava come un padre adottivo.
Alla fine degli anni '80 si è pensionato dal Dipartimento dell'Energia degli Stati Uniti e si impegnato a tempo pieno nel mondo del bridge dove è stato dipendente ACBL dal 1994 al 2005 e Direttore di chiara fama.
Come giocatore, martin ha vinto diversi titoli regionali cumulando oltre 5.000 punti.
Nel 1996 si è trasferito in Florida dove è scomparso a Palm Beach il 10 novembre del 2012.
Martin Chaitt was born in 1929 in Williamsport in the north
of the state of Philadelphia and grew up not far of there in Elmira in upstate
New York.
He studied at Syracuse University and got his master's degree at Johns Hopkins
University.
Married with Said Ellause, father of three daughters had started working part time for the ACBL in the 60s at the School of Jerry Machlin which he regarded as a foster father.
At the end of the 80s, he is retired from the Department of Energy of the United States and is working full-time in the world of the bridge where he was a ACBL employee from 1994 to 2005 and Director of renown.
As a player, Martin has won several regional titles accumulating more than 5,000 points
In 1996 he moved to Florida where he died in Palm Beach in 2012.
