Nata nel 1921, Ginette Bigat oltre che un'eccellente bridgista, fu una donna bellissima e dotata di grande simpatia, che ebbe in figlio quel Paul Chemla che in passato è stato uno dei migliori giocatori del mondo.
Ginette visse la prima gioventù a Tunisi con il suo primo marito l'avvocato Chemla, prima di trasferirsi nel 1960 con il figlio a Parigi dove, più tardi, sposò in seconde nozze il diplomatico francese Bertrand Flornoy, prima di convolare a nozze una terza ed ultima volta, con il forte giocatore di bridge turco Halit Bigat.
Nell'ultima parte della sua vita, Ginette fu condannata a passare 11 anni in ospedale a causa delle sue precarie condizioni di salute e si spense nel 2008 a Losanna.
Halit Bigat, che oggi vive a Pully vicino Losanna dove è proprietario dell'Hotel Ascona, è stato un membro sia della nazionale turca che di quella svizzera e ha anche guidato entrambe da capitano non giocatore.

Ginette spent her early youth in Tunis with her first husband, before moving to Paris in 1960 where she married her second husband, the French diplomat Bertrand Flornoy first to get married a third and final time, with a strong Turkish bridge player, Halit Bigat.
In the latter part of her life, Ginette was ordered to spend 11 years in hospital because of his poor health and died in 2008 in Lausanne.
